As I know you are a stocking enthusiast, like me I would like to talk to you about the different ways to wear nylons and the different occasions you should wear nylons. Nylons, or stockings are typically supported in one of three ways. The most common way and a very popular way amongst my stocking site members is to wear a suspender belt (known as a garter belt in many places outside of the United Kingdom)
This suspender belt, or garter belt goes around the waist and drops extensions (known as suspenders or susses in England) that are clipped to the tops of the stockings, my preference is of course metal claps, but these days many people prefer the plastic clasps, I presume because they wear them in bed and plastic is more comfortable than metal, or maybe it is just that the manufacturers make more money! But either way it is metal clasps for me!
The second most common means of support is ’stay-up’ nylons, where the inside of the top of the stockings has added to it a band of elastic that grips the skin and stops the nylons slipping down the thigh. I personally hardly ever wear these, in fact the only time is in the evening when I am about to go to bed.
Because these are considerably less reliable in the sense of assuring that the stockings do not fall down, and stockings falling down when you are at work or trying to catch a bus is not what a lady needs, though it does depend a great deal on the shape of the actual leg. Often to make sure this doesn’t happen the nylon elastic can be made uncomfortably tight, leaving red marks.
The third method and least common means of support is the circular elastic garter that is slipped up over the top of the stocking and which is intended to hold the stocking by essentially clamping it to the leg. These are pretty much no longer used and when they are it is with hold ups anyway. These days these are the garters typically only seen at weddings. But the real ones have much the same disadvantages as ’stay-ups’.
At the times where the tops of the stockings are visible, like on my site for example, lol most people I know, including me prefer the look of suspenders. most gentlemen like me prefer the metal clasps.
Now what to do about your panties? The most convenient (and presently fashionable) way to wear stockings is to wear panties over the stockings and suspender belt. If the panties are full, this pins the garters to the body, which makes it less obvious exactly what is being worn.
It also enhances convenience, as going to the bathroom or getting involved in an erotic encounter with a gentleman friend as it simply involves pulling down the panties rather than going through all the steps required to detach the clips and re-attach them after the moment has gone. I sometimes do choose to wear panties underneath instead, as that can be very erotic if you have a gentleman friend over, the time it takes to carefully unclasp each clasp can drive a gentleman wiled with desire.
